I was reading the start of a very old book today, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and it began with this quote, taken from Toward The Future, a fascinating work by French idealist philosopher and Jesuit priest, Peirre Teilhard de Chardin. You may recognise it from the  surmon given by an enthusiastic Reverend Michael Curry at the Royal Wedding last month.

ON LOVE

“The day will come when after harnessing space, the winds, the tides and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, we shall have discovered fire.” (Pierre Tielhard de Chardin)

It’s an interesting quote because Teilhard de Chardin’s book is very much about how we reconcile faith and science. Immediately before this quote he says ‘What paralyzes life is lack of faith and lack of audacity. The difficulty lies not in solving problems but expressing them.’ By ‘audacity’ he most likely means ‘conviction’. In many ways the ‘faith’ of the scientist that there are solutions to all our questions is no different from the ‘faith’ of the believer in the wisdom and power of Divine forces. The ways in which people express their individual faith and work with it to solve the world’s problems are the mechanisms of human exploration and enlightenment.

At the heart of all this, he says, is love, which plays the biggest role because ‘love’ by most definitions means unconditional commitment to others, to someone, or to something we are passionate about. And the ‘unconditional’ part of that definition is what leads to forgiveness, compromise, compassion, loyalty and charity.

What is REALLY possible with LOVE?

We know that divine love can heal any illness in certain people  – there are reports of almost everything being healed by the power of divine love. It also creates a positive energy which, of course, raises the planet and touches people’s hearts and souls, and assists ascension too. I have also seen manifestations from pure love. A friend of mine once travelled to see the eastern master Sai Baba at his community teaching school and hospital. She witnessed him manifest objects, such as fruit, out of thin air, by the power of thought and love. I once ran a workshop in London for a lovely group of Indian people, and after one of the meditations, we noticed sacred ash had appeared on the photo of Sai Baba in the room – sacred ash was his hallmark, and healing to consume.  Manifesting out of ‘thin air’ is thus possible not just through 3D printing in the scientific world, but also through spiritual means.

What can you manifest through the power of your loving thoughts?  A piece of fruit out of thin air may not be possible yet, but invite the angels and archangels to help you manifest something truly special over the next few days, to see what you can do. Maybe you will surprise yourself.

Love really is the creative force of the universe.

Angels love play, so approach this playfully and have fun with it
